Can I get a free DNA test?

Unfortunately, you can't get a free DNA test with the NHS, but we can help.

While free DNA testing is not available, we do provide offers to keep costs down.

The only way to have a DNA relationship test in the UK is to use a private service provider. Crystal Health Group and DNA Clinics are one of the most trusted providers in the UK. As a result, we are the only company providing paternity testing services in partnership with Boots.

While free DNA testing is not available, we do provide offers to keep costs down. This includes the option to order a free DNA test kit from our online store. In addition, you can also split the cost of the service for any of the tests that we provide. This option can be chosen for the three different types of self-collection kits:

Boots Paternity DNA test. Please note, you must pay for the DNA test kit with this option.
DNA self-collection kits from our on-line store, including paternity, maternity, sibling and grandparent DNA test kits.

Free DNA testing kits

To help with the costs of a DNA test, we have a special offer from our online DNA test store. There is no cost to pay for the DNA testing kit, just a small amount for the postage and packing. To return your samples, there is a first class return envelope enclosed with the kit for your convenience. These kits are handled and processed in the same way as the Boots paternity DNA test kit. As such, you can be confident in the accuracy of your DNA test results.

Beware of very cheap DNA tests

We receive many calls from upset individuals who have chosen a very cheap DNA test. This is because they realise that their samples have been processed by a laboratory with no UKAS 17025 accreditation. Furthermore, samples can be sent outside of the UK for testing with no regulatory control. There are even reports of test results being provided without the samples actually being analysed.

As a result, these individuals have no confidence in the DNA test results they have been given. In turn, they then end up having to pay for another test with DNA Clinics to ensure they receive accurate results.
